Chandigarh: Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, has claimed to have filed 101 patents. The officer of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Geographical Indicators, Intellectual Property India, had listed the university as the sixth top Indian applicant of patents from all Indian universities and institutes in its annual report for 2015-16.
Prof PK Khosla, VC of the university, said, “Scientists at the university are focusing on cutting-edge research in areas such as drug development, novel and effective diagnostics and therapeutics, water and effluent treatment, novel industrial enzymes and phytomedicines,” — TNS
