Showing special interest in suwidha centres and the services offered by these, a delegation of 20 deputy commissioners from Bangladesh said they would try to create such facilities in their country too.

“Undoubtedly, India the biggest democracy in the world, is much more advanced and the system to run the administration is simpler and more effective here than our country,” said Dr Muhammad Masumar Rehman, Deputy Commissioner, Patuakhali, Bangladesh, and Tapan Kumar Vishvash, Deputy Commissioner, Bagerhat, Bangladesh, at the Mohali DC Complex in Sector 76 today.

Members of the delegation added that they were impressed with the e-governance facility. Earlier, the delegation took part in the 7th special training programme at the District Administrative Complex under a project in association with the National Centre for Good Governance, Mussoorie.

Mohali DC Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, who apprised guests of the working of the administration and the police, informed them about the historic background of the district, along with its culture. She told them about the schemes run by the state and the Centre for the benefit of the poor.

She also apprised them of the working of the DC office, suwidha and fard kendras. “Such training programmes are a great platform for knowledge sharing,’ said Sapra.

Dr AP Singh, Assistant Professor, National Centre for Good Governance, Mussoorie, said the training to 110 DCs, along with 1,382 administrative officers of Bangladesh, has been provided by this centre and as per the agreement between the two nations under which training to 1,500 officials would be provided soon.
