CHANDIGARH: Continuing the streak of shinning bright, students of Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, here, passed the Class XII examinations, results of which were declared today, with flying colours.

Continuing the streak of shinning bright, students of Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, here, passed the Class XII examinations, results of which were declared today, with flying colours. 80.2 per cent is the highest among 10 students who appeared for the arts stream.

Pushp Lata, a native of Ambala, Haryana, topped the institute by scoring 80.2 per cent marks. Pushp Lata, an IAS aspirant, feels that sky is the limit for her. “I will pursue graduation and will prepare for the UPSC,” she said.

A national-level athlete, who won three gold medals in National Games last year, believes that nothing is impossible. Where there is a will, there is a way. Music is among the hobbies of Pushp Lata that energises her.

The second position in the institute was bagged by Poonam Devi, who scored 76.2 per cent marks. The third position was bagged by Mamta, who scored 75.6 per cent marks.

Other students who came out with flying colours include Sadanand with 74.8 per cent marks, Sajan 68.2 per cent, Ravi Paswan 68 per cent, Chandan Kumar 65.8 per cent, Dinesh 63.6 per cent, Chirag Aggarwal 62.4 per cent and Yogita 61.2 per cent. JS Jayara, principal of the institute, said: “Students might lack sight, but not the vision to excel. All students worked very hard and scored good marks. They just need opportunities to prove themselves.” This was the second batch that appeared for Class XII in CBSE stream as earlier the institute was affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board. The subjects that were opted by the students include Hindi, English, Political Science, History and Music. — TNS
