CHANDIGARH: Top seed Ishita of Sector 43 Coaching Centre beat second seed Garima Singh to claim the girls’ U-19 category title on the last day of the State Ranking Badminton Championship at the Sector 7 Sports Complex on Sunday.

Chandigarh, June 3

Top seed Ishita of Sector 43 Coaching Centre beat second seed Garima Singh to claim the girls’ U-19 category title on the last day of the State Ranking Badminton Championship at the Sector 7 Sports Complex on Sunday. Ishita lost the first game 17-21 but returned to win the title 21-14 23-21. In the boys’ U-19 category final, Saurya Maddan defeated Shaurya Mahajan 21-9 21-7 to win the title. Dakshmeet Singh won the boys’ U-11 title by defeating Atiksh Thakur 21-15 22-20, while Tanishka Nandal won the girls’ title by defeating Rishima Saini 21-16 21-11. 

Piyush Chauhan beat Akul Malik 21-17 21-5 to win the boys’ U-13 category final, while Shagunpreet Kaur won the girls’ title by registering a 21-13 23-21 win over Rakshita Pahwa. Top seed Arjun Prakash beat Samarveer 16-21 21-18 21-16 in the final of the boys’ U-15 category. In the girls’ final, Mili Verma beat Tania Sharma 21-19 21-13. Sanyam Grover defeated Hasil Tewari 21-13 20-22 21-12 to claim the boys’ U-17 title. inda Rana registered a 17-21 21-15 21-17 win over Arpita Malik in the girls’ final.
