Chandigarh, March 31

The police have arrested two persons, including a juvenile, for allegedly stabbing Aman, 25, in Sector 25 here on Friday night. While the 16-year-old juvenile has been sent to a juvenile home, 24-year-old Somi will be produced in the court on Sunday.

The police are checking the CCTV footage and are also investigating the role of four others, including a man, Tarsem, who were along with the juvenile and Somi at the time of the incident.

As per the police, the two arrests have been made on the basis of the statement of Sunny, brother-in-law of Aman, who was also injured in the attack on the duo. As per DSP Jaswinder Singh, the juvenile confessed to stabbing Aman after being attacked by him first.

Jaswinder said on Thursday, Tarsem had a quarrel with Aman, Sunny and one other person at the Sector 37 petrol pump. The quarrel was over getting their vehicles refuelled first. On Friday night, around 9:30 pm, when Sunny was on his way to drop Aman home in Sector 25, around six youth blocked their way. They then attacked the duo while the juvenile stabbed Aman. As he tried to intervene, Sunny was also attacked. Aman was attacked just 50 meters away from his home in Sector 25. He ran home and fell in his mother’s lap and cried, “Mummy mainu bacha la (save me, mummy)”.  — TNS
