Labourer commits suicide

CHANDIGARH: A 25-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented house in Kajheri village last night.

A 25-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented house in Kajheri village last night.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Raju, a labourer. Police sources said the victim was an alcoholic.

The victim hanged himself with the help of a stole. The police were informed about the incident who rushed the victim to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police said no suicide note was found from the spot. The victim is survived by his wife, who is pregnant. “The victim was married around a year ago,” the sources said. The police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter.
