Applicants who came to the office of the Registering and Licensing Authority Office in the Industrial Area on Tuesday had a harrowing time when the server of the system stopped working for more than three hours.

Due to the problem in the server, the computers stopped intermittingly causing harassment to residents. The residents had to wait for hours. Vikram Sharma, a resident, said it was a nightmare for him to deposit the file for the registration certificate of his vehicles. He said he came in the morning to deposit the file, but found that the server was down, so he was told to visit the office in the afternoon.

Another resident, Rajbir Singh Modgil, said the server went down in the morning. Nobody knew how long it would take for the work to start. It was only in the afternoon that the computers began working.

Vinod, who had also come regarding his learner’s driving licence, said, “After standing for more than two hours in the office, I was told to come again in the afternoon.”

Officers of the RLA maintained that there was some fault in the internet due to which the work was affected.
