Maha-Odisha paddlers beat Bihar-Mizo combine 3-0

CHANDIGARH:Maharashtra-Odisha combine registered a 3-0 win over the Bihar-Mizoram team on the second day of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Table Tennis Tournament at the Sector 23 TT Hall here on Saturday.

Chandigarh, April 21 

Maharashtra-Odisha combine registered a 3-0 win over the Bihar-Mizoram team on the second day of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Table Tennis Tournament at the Sector 23 TT Hall here on Saturday.  

In the first match, Siddesh Panday from the combined team of  Maharashtra and Odisha registered an 11-4 11-9 11-4 win over Yogesh Mathuri.

Shubham Ambre then made it 2-0 for the side with a hard-fought 3-2 win over  Lalruatsanga of the Bihar-Mizoram team.  

M Ishwar had an easy outing against Kalvohbika to help Maharashtra-Odisha combine seal the match 3-0. 

The side will face hosts Chandigarh in their last league match. 

Meanwhile, in the women's team championship, Maharashtra-Odisha pairing beat Bihar 3-0. 

While Shruti beat Riyanshi 11-4 11-1 11-1, Swastika humbled Pragati Goswami 11-4 11-3 11-5. Shruthi then beat Nandini Kumari 11-3 11-4 11-2 to ensure a 3-0 victory for Maharashtra-Odisha combine.

The tournament is being organised by Chandigarh Table Tennis Association under the aegis of TTFI.
