Man booked on charge of raping daughter

ZIRAKPUR:The local police on Sunday booked a 45-year-old man on a charge of raping his 20-year-old daughter for the past one year.



Zirakpur, April 22

The local police on Sunday booked a 45-year-old man on a charge of raping his 20-year-old daughter for the past one year. 

The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Singh of Nabha village near Zirakpur.

The incident came to light on Saturday night when the accused’s wife caught him while committing the crime. The victim, along with her mother, approached the police following which a case was registered against Jaswinder Singh.

Investigation officer Gurmail Singh said the victim alleged that her father used to rape her in the absence of her mother and used to issue threats that he would kill her if she narrated the incident to anyone. 

The investigating officer said the accused was on the run. — OC
