The police on Saturday arrested a man for carrying 105 grams of heroin. The accused has been identified as Robin Garg, a resident of Raghu Majra.
The accused has been booked under Sections 21 (possesses, sells, purchases, transports, imports inter-State, exports inter-State or uses any manufactured drug), 61 (confiscation of goods used for concealing illicit drugs or substances) and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
District Superintendent of Police Saurav Jindal said: “A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.”
Station House Officer Surinder Bhalla said: “We are investigating from where he used to purchase the drugs.”
The accused was arrested during the checking at a police post in Raghu Majra. On suspicion, the police signalled the accused to stop the car. During the search, the police found 105 grams of heroin from his possession, said the police.
The police said the confiscated heroin is worth Rs 1 lakh.
