CHANDIGARH: A 48-year-old Dadu Majra resident died after an ‘unknown’ vehicle hit his Activa scooter on the road separating Sectors 23 and 16 here today.

Chandigarh, February 17

A 48-year-old Dadu Majra resident died after an ‘unknown’ vehicle hit his Activa scooter on the road separating Sectors 23 and 16 here today.

As per the information, Rajesh Kumar, the deceased, had left his optical shop in Dadu Majra Colony for Sector 22 to get some material. Some unknown vehicle hit his scooter in the rear side on the road separating Sectors 16 and 23 and sped away. He received grievous injuries in his head.

On getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and rushed the victim, Rajesh Kumar, to the GMSH in Sector 16 where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police said they had registered a case against the unknown accused and were scanning the CCTV footage of the area. The autopsy will be conducted tomorrow. — TNS
