Man’s body found in Nabha canal

NABHA:An unidentified body was recovered from Bhojemajra canal passing through the town on Saturday morning.

An unidentified body was recovered from Bhojemajra canal passing through the town on Saturday morning.

Malkit Singh, a witness, said foul smell was emanating from the canal as the water had started receding couple of days ago. He said they noticed the body of a man stuck in a bush just before a bridge and informed the police.

Investigation officer (IO) Inderjit Singh said on receiving information from Malkit, a police team, led by the Sadar police station SHO, Bikar Sohi, rushed to the spot.

The IO said the deceased appeared to be 40 years of age. The body was about 15 days old. It was shifted to the Civil Hospital where it would be kept in the mortuary for 72 hours for identification. — TNS
