A 24-year-old resident of Sector 19, who was admitted to the GMSH-16 on Friday, has tested positive for the H1N1 virus (swine flu).
The sample of the throat swab of the 24-year-old man, who works as a domestic help in a house, was sent for examination to the PGI’s virology lab. The reports received on Saturday confirmed the presence of the H1N1 virus.
Doctors attending to the man said he had a history of contact with another patient who had tested positive for the H1N1 virus. The man’s family is also being screened.
Meanwhile, the total number of swine flu cases reported this winter has reached six, including one death.
