Panchkula, May 23

The Panchkula police today arrested sharpshooter Manish in connection with the killing of bouncer Amit Sharma, alias Meet. With the arrest of Manish, the Panchkula police have arrested four accused in the Meet murder case.

Manish, a resident of Nayagaon in Mohali district, had fired the first bullet at Meet on May 8. He will be produced in court tomorrow.

A senior Panchkula police official said they were regularly conducting raids at different places to arrest Manish. They arrested Manish from the Dera Bassi bus stand today while he was planning to leave for another location, the official said.

Meet’s killing was planned and executed by a group of seven people. So far, the Panchkula police have arrested four accused -- alleged mastermind Gagandeep Singh, co-accused Amandeep Singh, alias Mani, Harjinder Singh, alias Ladi, and Manish, a close friend of Gagandeep who fired the first bullet at Meet.

Plea moved for Dalbir’s warrant

The Panchkula police will move a plea in the court for a production warrant of Dalbir Singh, alias Darbara, who is in Patiala jail. The Mohali police had arrested Dalbir in connection with an attempt-to-murder case but his name also surfaced in the Meet case. The Panchkula police maintained that Dalbir Singh had provided the car and a pistol used in Meet's murder.
