Mayor submits minutes to MC Commissioner’s office

A day after the MC House meeting convened by Panchkula Mayor Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia in the absence of MC officials, minutes of the meetings, along with the proceedings book, were submitted to the office of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner.

The same were also forwarded to the Chief Secretary and Director, Urban Local Bodies Department.

Sources revealed that as the meeting was already cancelled by MC Commissioner Dr Shaleen, therefore he would likely not accept the proceedings of the MC House meeting held yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Haryana Government is also legally examining the letter written by MC Commissioner Dr Shaleen against the Mayor for threatening him. A senior official of the Haryana’s Urban Local Bodies Department said they were examining it as per the MC Act.

‘Will not allow dumping ground in Mattawala’

Saleem Khan, Councillor of Ward No. 20, on Thursday submitted that he had attended the meeting on June 21 but as the officials were not present, he also left the meeting. In the meeting, the House passed the agenda to shift garbage dumping ground from Jhuriwala to some other place. The dumping ground will not be allowed to set up in Mattawala, which falls in his ward, he said.
