MC plans to purchase 28 fire suits for Rs15 lakh

CHANDIGARH: Purchase of 28 fire proximity suits for the Fire Service and hydraulic trolley and water tenders for the horticulture division of the MC will be taken up during a meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) on November 25.

Purchase of 28 fire proximity suits for the Fire Service and hydraulic trolley and water tenders for the horticulture division of the MC will be taken up during a meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) on November 25.

Ten hydraulic trolleys and an equal number of water tankers will cost Rs 37.17 lakh. For the safety of firemen, it is proposed to purchase 28 fire proximity suits at an estimated cost of Rs 15.51 lakh. The fire suit includes anti-flash hood, helmet, boots, gloves, coat and trousers. The meeting will also take up issues pertaining to existing taxi stands and amendments in terms and condition for allotment of taxi stands. Later, these issues will be sent to the MC General House for the final approval. — TNS
