Model of new city bus queue shelter ready

CHANDIGARH: More than a year and a half after old bus queue shelters in the city were dismantled, the engineering department has constructed a model bus queue shelter at Sector 17.

Chandigarh, February 12

More than a year and a half after old bus queue shelters in the city were dismantled, the engineering department has constructed a model bus queue shelter at Sector 17.

The model is in accordance with the design prepared by the Department of Architecture. 

An officer in the Transport Department said a committee of senior officials would study the model to check whether it would meet the requirement of Smart bus queue shelter. If the committee approved the design, new bus queue shelters would be constructed on the public private partnership.

The company with the UT Administration will enter into an agreement will earn revenue through advertisements displayed at the bus queue shelters. 

The new design has been prepared to match the intelligent traffic system to be adopted by the CTU. — TNS
