Mohali to have medical college soon: Mohindra

MOHALI: Punjab Health and Medical Education Minister Brahm Mohindra announced that the Punjab Government would open a new medical college in Mohali soon.

Punjab Health and Medical Education Minister Brahm Mohindra announced that the Punjab Government would open a new medical college in Mohali soon.

He said in all five state medical colleges were planned to be opened in the state to overcome the shortage of doctors.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 2nd national conference on “Neuro-Socio-Psycho Rehabilitation” organised by the University School of Medical and Allied Sciences of Rayat Bahra University on Tuesday.

The Health Minister also announced that trauma centres would be set up on national and state highways in Punjab where specialist doctors would be available to provide timely specialised medical treatment to road accident victims and thus save precious human lives.

Inaugurating the national conference organised in collaboration with the PGI, Chandigarh, Mohindra said rehabilitation of post-head injury patients was an area of concern and there was an urgent need to address this.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions and Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, highlighted the team work at Rayat Bahra Group towards delivering quality education. Over 150 delegates attended the conference.
