Mohali topper Harshpreet learnt from her mistakes

Harshpreet Kaur Batra of St Soldier International Convent School scored around 87 per cent in her midterm examination, but did not give up as she vowed to achieve more. She continued to work on her mistakes to become the topper in Mohali district, bagging 96.4 per cent in the Class XII (humanities stream) CBSE results which were declared today.

She shared the first position with Saloni of Anee’s School, who has scored the same marks in the medical stream.

“I did not score well in my midterm exams, but I was determined to achieve more. I worked on my mistakes and corrected them. Thus, I succeeded. It is good to make mistakes because we learn from them. My parents and teachers supported me. My parents would pick and drop me for extra classes. My teachers would even answer my silly questions,” says Harshpreet. 

Eighteen-year-old Harshpreet aspires to become a lawyer and has already taken admission to a law course in Canada. “I want to become a successful lawyer. I like to prove what I feel is right so I chose a law course,” adds the Mohali topper, who had earlier stayed in Canada.
