Month on, cops clueless in rape case

Almost a month after a 12-year-old school student was allegedly raped at Children Traffic Park in Sector 23, the UT police are still groping in the dark.

The victim, a student of a government school in Sector 23, was reportedly waylaid and raped at knife-point by a middle-aged man, suspected to be a drug addict, at Children Traffic Park on August 15.

Investigations have failed to make any headway despite suspects being questioned. The police could not come up with a sketch of the suspect as the information provided by the girl was vague.

DSP (Central) Ram Gopal said they wer investigating the case from various angles and nothing could be revealed.
