Mystery shrouds youth’s death

A 16-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a forest area in Sector 28 here on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Pahari, a labourer who was staying with his family in a slum in Sector 28. His father, Naresh Kumar, also a labourer, said his son did not return home on Monday night. On Tuesday, a passerby informed them about their son’s body in the forest area, he said.

The police are suspecting it to be a case of murder. However, they are also working on other angles.

The police said the head and the upper part of the victim’s body was inside the pit and only the legs were visible. There was a mobile phone in the deceased’s hands.
