No trace of missing girl

There is no information of the 17-year-old girl that had gone missing on November 15 under mysterious circumstances. The father of the girl, Mangat Ram, a labourer and resident of Dera Bassi, had approached the police following which an FIR was registered here on Thursday.

In his compliant to the police, he stated that he had three children, including a son, who is the youngest of all. He stated that on November 15, he, along with his wife, had gone for work but when he returned home at 2 pm, her daughter went to the market, saying that she would return within 10 minutes.

When she did not return till night, the family started searching for her. They even contacted their relatives, thinking that she might have gone back to their native place. However, their search turned futile.

The girl’s father suspected that she might have been abducted by an unidentified person. The police have registered a case against an unidentified person under Sections 363, 366A of the IPC at the Dera Bassi police station.
