Chandigarh, June 24
Almost all the results this year have been ruled by residents of Panchkula. While this year’s NEET results have been dismal, the lone shining star has been Bhupin Thakar. He broke into top 100 with AIR 76. A student of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Manimajra, Bhupin had secured AIR 1,081 in AIIMS entrance too.
Bhupin’s father is a service man at the BELL factory and mother a housewife. He has an elder brother who is pursuing engineering at PEC in Chandigarh. Having scored 95.6 per cent in class XII, Bhupin will now seek admission in Maulana Azad Medical College. His aim, however, was to get into AIIMS, Delhi, which did not happen.
Having given up social media for two years, Bhupin likes to compose music and dance in his free time. Not a firm believer of making time tables or strict schedules, Bhupin said he studied for 12 to 13 hours a day and was determined to do well.
A Zirakpur resident, Harman Singh secured AIR 335 in the results. He was a student of The British School.
