Param Bindra wins ‘Athlete of Year’ title at sports meet

Elite Club organised its first sports event in which members participated with huge enthusiasm at Government Physical College, here. Events such as 100m race, shot put, lemon and spoon race, needle and thread race, sack race, back race and one-leg race were conducted.

Param Bindra won the title of Athlete of Year - 2017. Taekwando coach Satwinder Singh organised a self-defence camp for club members. The opening ceremony was held with the band troop and scouts by college students.

Club president Shelly Kohli said this event was one-of-its-kind and the fitness level of women was put to test.

Results: Lemon spoon race: 1st Param, 2nd Harman, 3rd Tisha; Sack race: 1st Simpika, 2nd Vandana, 3rd Sukhwinder; 100m race: 1st Param, 2nd Tanya, 3rd Simpika; Needle and thread race: 1st Simpika, 2nd Neelam, 3rd Sarita; Shot Put: 1st Param, 2nd Amisha, 3rd Tisha; Back race: 1st Simpika, 2nd Param, 3rd Tina; One-Leg race: 1st Param, 2nd Tanya, and 3rd Amisha.
