Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 46, was established in the year 1982 as a college for boys. But it evolved as a co-educational institution in the year 1992.

Evaluated by NAAC for Cycle-II accreditation with Grade ‘A’ in September 2015, this college is the first one in Chandigarh to start MCom.

The Training and Placement Cell of the college brings students in touch with reputed companies, banks, corporate and business agencies by organising job fests.

Digital marketing, entrepreneurship management, marketing management, graphic designing, graphic and motion animation, 3D products and visualisation, production and film-making, photography, advance VFX programme, GST under tally certification, cyber security, development of applications in Android and a specialised course on communication skills, under the umbrella of ‘Language Work Station’ with the audio-visual system, are available free of cost to students.

The college provides a WiFi campus, spacious e-classrooms, computer labs, a language lab, a fully computerised administrative block, aesthetically and acoustically designed auditorium complex with seating capacity of 800 and a fully equipped gymnasium.

Fee concession and scholarship is provided to the SC/ST/meritorious students. Students from economically weaker sections are also given financial aid. No new courses are being started by the college in 2018-19.
