Players have a ball as Yuvraj goes for knot

The Indian team and a few other cricketers were among the 300-odd guests who attended the pre-wedding function of cricketer Yuvraj Singh and model-turned-actress Hazel Keech at Hotel Lalit in the IT Park. The hotel was abuzz with activity since afternoon, including the traditional “haldi ceremony” after which snacks were organised at the Baluchi restaurant in the hotel.

For the evening function, guests started arriving at the venue around 7 pm.

Yuvraj Singh was wearing a black achkan with a white churidar pajama. The couple came to the lobby of the hotel to allow photojournalists waiting there to click pictures.

Among the cricketers who attended the pre-wedding bash were Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pinata, Mohhamed Shami, Parthiv Patel, Mohammad Kaif and Ashish Nehra, besides coach Anil Kumble. Many other players from the Indian team, which was in the city for the Test match against England and are putting up in the same hotel, attended the function. Yuvraj’s father Yograj Singh also arrived at the function with his wife, who was received by Yuvi himself at the entrance to the venue.

Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh told the media that she was happy that Yuvi was starting a new innings. “I wish him good luck for the life ahead,” she said. 

The cricketer’s younger brother, Zoraver Singh, was elated. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann also attended the function. 

PCA officials also arrived at the function to bless the celebrity couple. Yuvi’s close friends and relatives were among the 300-odd guests at the function. Rooms were booked in the same hotel for outstation guests. 

Yuvi’s close buddy and cricketer Harbhajan Singh missed the pre-wedding function.  There was a vast menu for the guests at the function held on the pool side. 

The celebrity couple will tie the nuptial knot at a dera in Fatehgarh Sahib on Wednesday.
