A two-week ICSSR sponsored capacity-building programme at the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) for social science faculty came to an end recently.
The programme was attended by 17 assistant professors from universities and colleges in Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir.
Participants were from a range of social science disciplines such as economics, sociology, history, political science, public administration, management, education, geography and family studies and human development. The participants were trained in quantitative and qualitative techniques of social research, besides elements of academic writing and publication.
