Panchkula, June 5

Residents of trans-Ghaggar sectors; 24 to 28; on Tuesday staged a protest at the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) office in Sector 6 and demonstrated their resentment against ‘enhancement notices’ sent to them.

During the protest, the residents expressed their pain and anguish against HUDA. They alleged HUDA did not respond to their letters.

They also submitted a memorandum to the Zonal Administrator of HUDA.

Recently, the residents of these sectors had got ‘enhancement notices’ sent by HUDA.

According to the Haryana Urban Development (Disposal of Land & Building) Regulations, 1978, an allottee (who has got a plot from HUDA) is liable to pay additional amount (enhancement compensation) if landowner(s) is awarded a higher compensation by the court.

The residents said: “The enhancement notices are erroneous and inflated. There are errors in the calculation of days, interest and even the cost of land has been incorrectly determined.”

Moreover, the residents alleged that they have already paid enhancement amount on number of occasions.
