CHANDIGARH:In a daylight theft, thieves decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh and three sets of jewellery from a house in Sector 46 in less than an hour.

In a daylight theft, thieves decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh and three sets of jewellery from a house in Sector 46 in less than an hour. The house owner had gone to the market and on returning after an hour, she found the house ransacked.

According to the police, the complainant, Shikha Jain, reported that yesterday, her mother went to the market around 10.30 am after locking the house.

An hour later, the complainant’s mother returned home and found the door lock broken and the house ransacked.  Three sets of jewellery and Rs 1.5 lakh were found stolen from the house.

A case in this connection has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.
