Thieves stole Rs 6 lakh and documents from a house in Milk Colony, Dhanas, on the night of June 22.
The matter came to light when Mohan Singh Rawat, an insurance company manager, returned home and found the lock broken and the house ransacked. He found Rs 6 lakh and some documents missing from the house. He lodged a complaint with the police.
The police said the cash kept in the house was believed to be insurance money. Meanwhile, a case under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC has been registered at the Sarangpur police station against unidentified thieves.
In another theft, Rs 8,000 and some items were stolen from a house in Sector 40 on June 18. The matter came to light when the family returned home.
Surinder Mohan, in his complaint to the police, has stated that someone has stolen a silver “kara”, silver utensils, silver coins and other silver items weighing about 70 gram and cash Rs 8,000 from his residence.
A case under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. The police have failed to get any clue in both cases.
