Panchkula District Cricket Association defeated Chandigarh by eight wickets at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19. Sagar Sharma (69 runs and 3/23) along with Ajay Duhan (46 runs and 4/7) helped the side register a big win.
Batting first, Panchkula posted 167/2 in 27.4 overs. Their innings was bolstered by Sagar's unbeaten knock of 69 runs and Ajay's 46 runs. Mayank Chaudhary (28) was the other notable contributor in the total. For Chandigarh boys, Sahib claimed one wicket for 18 runs. In reply, Chandigarh were bundled out on 166 runs in 36.3 overs. Guntashveer (60 off 40 balls studded with four boundaries and a six) was ably supported by Deepak (50 off 56 balls including five boundaries) and Micheal Vishal (31). Ajay (4/7), Sagar (3/23) and Shivam Chaudhary (2/29) were the main wicket-takers for Panchkula.
CCA to honour players
Chandigarh Cricket Association (affiliated to Punjab) will honour the local U-23 team, which won the Punjab Inter-district Cricket Championship recently. The city team defeated Jalandhar in the four-day final of the championship.
