School Games: Haryana girls set up title clash with Punjab

Haryana girls humbled Chhattisgarh 52-46 to enter their maiden final in the National School Basketball Games held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Sector 3, here today. 

In the final, Haryana will face neighbours Punjab, who beat Madhya Pradesh 63-29.  

Earlier, Haryana had beat Maharashtra 63-34 to enter the semifinals, while Punjab handed a 59-18 drubbing to Karnataka. 

Madhya Pradesh beat IPSC 51-41 and Chhattisgarh overcame Delhi 50-47.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ semifinals, hosts Haryana overwhelmed Punjab 62-36 to set up the title clash with Chhattisgarh. 

Chhattisgarh beat Kerala 41-22 to advance to the final. 

The Haryana boys had last won the title 10 years ago.

In the quarterfinals, the hosts defeated Delhi 77-49, while Punjab edged out Maharashtra 77-43. Chhattisgarh drowned Rajasthan 66-58. Kerala beat IPSC 52-36.
