Chandigarh, January 21
In a hit-and-run case, a 25-year-old Activa rider died after being hit by an unknown vehicle on the road separating Sector 38 (West) and Sector 39.
The victim has been identified as Rohit, a resident of Maloya Colony. The police said the unknown vehicle sped away after hitting the Activa rider. He was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.
The police have registered a case against the unknown driver under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC at the Sector 39 police station. The victim is survived by his wife and parents. tns
