A team of the Haryana Health Department, Panchkula, has busted an alleged illegal sex determination racket being run at a hospital in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
While stating this here today, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Gauri Prashar Joshi said acting on a tip-off, the team of the District Administration sent a decoy customer to Mahesh Hospital in Fatehgarh Sahib after establishing coordination with the Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Medical Officer of the district concerned.
The team then conducted a raid after the hospital staff conducted illegal sex determination test and caught them red-handed with the amount paid by the decoy customer for the test.
Cash amounting to Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 was recovered from the doctor and the tout, respectively.
During the raid, the team also discovered that the clinic was not registered, the Deputy Commissioner said.
