The three siblings, including a nurse working in the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) who were down with dengue, had left the house in Sector 15 and started living in Nayagaon.

The Heath Department learnt about it today when it carried out a drive to kill dengue larvae in Sector 15. A 60-member team of the department went house to house. The owner of the house said the three were tenants. He said the PGI nurse, her sister and daughter, had left the house nearly one-and-a-half-month ago and shifted to Nayagaon falling in Mohali district. Rakesh Kashyap, Director, Health Services, UT, confirmed that the trio was living in Nayagaon.

“In the hospitals’ admission record, the patients mentioned their old address which led to the confusion. The team conducted fogging and visited the houses in Sector 15,” said Kashyap.

He said heath officials of the district and Punjab’s nodal officer had been intimated about the cases of dengue. It is the fourth case that has surfaced in Nayagaon. As per the Health Department, 20 cases of dengue have been reported in the city since January while around 50 cases were reported last year.
