The UT police have arrested the sixth accused in the HCS (Judicial) paper leak case.

The accused, Kuldeep, who is brother of one of the beneficiaries Sunita, was arrested on Sunday.

The police said Kuldeep was one of the agents who roped in candidates to whom paper was provided. He was absconding for the past few months.

Three persons, Balwinder Sharma, Registrar at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, and two beneficiaries Sunita and Sushila were earlier arrested in the high-profile case, which was registered in September last year following the directions of the High Court.

A High Court committee looking into the case had recommended scrapping of the examination after prima facie finding that some candidates had access to the question paper.

The committee had said at least two candidates, Sunita and Sushila, had the question paper. The committee had also stated that Balwinder Sharma unequivocally denied prior acquaintance with Sunita, the general category topper.  In May this year, the SIT had arrested city Congress leader Sunil Chopra and Ayushi Godara (22). Ayushi, who was a roommate of Sunita, was arrested in Jhajjar, Haryana. The police said both Ayushi and Chopra were conspirators and agents, who roped in candidates.
