Passengers on board the SpiceJet Chandigarh-New Delhi flight faced inconvenience following a delay in the take-off by over an hour and a half. Following a technical snag, the flight (SG 2834), which was scheduled to depart at 8.40 am and land at New Delhi at 9.35 am, could take off only around 10.30 am. The flight landed at New Delhi at 11.15 am.

A passenger, Anshu Kataria, chairman of the Aryans Group of Colleges, claimed that some of his fellow international passengers missed their flights from Delhi due to the delay. Katariasaid he, along with his acquaintance Charanjit Singh Walia, president of the Nursing Colleges Association, was going to attend an important meeting with BJP minister Vijay Sampla, but got late due to the delay.

“We have requested the minister to reschedule the meeting,” Kataria said. According to passengers, the flight stopped all of sudden on the runway while taking off at its scheduled time. “Then the flight was taken to the bay and at one point, the lights and the air-conditioner of the plane also went off,” claimed a passenger.
