Chandigarh, February 12
Anna University (Chennai) defeated Panjab University Chandigarh 15-09 to win the gold medal in the women's foil team event during the 8th All India Inter-University Fencing Championship held at Panjab University today. Punjabi University (Patiala) claimed the bronze medal.
In the sabre (men) event, PU Chandigarh defeated Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar 15-9 to finish third. In the epee (men) event, Punjabi University Patiala defeated Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Aurangabad) 15-09 to bag the gold medal while University of Jammu and MGK Kottayam University shared the third place.
