Golfing tour: Raj, Vineet take lead on Day 1

CHANDIGARH:Raj Kalar carded a 76 to lead the NRI 0-9 handicap category on the second day of 12th Chandigarh Golfing Tour held at the Chandigarh Golf Club, here today.

Raj Kalar carded a 76 to lead the NRI 0-9 handicap category on the second day of 12th  Chandigarh Golfing Tour held at the Chandigarh Golf Club, here today.

Tegbir Singh shot 77, while Kharag Singh shot 79 to finish second and third respectively.

In the 10-18 handicap category, SS Gill shot 82, followed by Canada’s Ruby Sangha (85). Sukhi Sangha shot 85 to claim third spot.

Vineet Chhabra, meanwhile, carded a 93 to top the 19-24 category. Ravi Sher Singh Toor shot finished second (97) followed by BS Kohali (98).

The longest drive contest was won by Sarif Buksh from USA with hit of 256 yard. Kharak Singh won the nearest-to-pin contest, shooting 13-feet from the hole.
