CHANDIGARH:Hosts Livewire Coaching Centre (LWCC) beat St. Xavier''s Staff, Sector 45, by 119 runs to win the opening match of the Fun Cricket Cup at Divya Public School, Sector 44, here today.

Hosts Livewire Coaching Centre (LWCC) beat St. Xavier's Staff, Sector 45, by 119 runs to win the opening match of the Fun Cricket Cup at Divya Public School, Sector 44, here today. 

Electing to bat, LWCC scored 169/6 in 20 overs with Harvinder Singh Nain smashing 89 runs off 46 balls. Prince struck a quick-fire 46 off 22 balls to lead the side to a challenging total. 

For St. Xavier's, Chandan Patwal claimed 3/30, while Abhay Sharma returned with figures of 2/24. 

Needing 170 runs for victory, St. Xavier's were bowled out for 50 runs in 11overs; Pankaj (3/10), Pareen Bhagat (2/6) and Arvind (2/7) sharing seven wickets between them.  Chandan Patwal (20) was the top scorer for St. Xavier's. — TNS
