Mohali FC emerge winners

Chandigarh, January 16  

Mohali Football Club won the inaugural five-a-side futsal tournament played under flood lights at The British School Astroturf field on Sunday.

The side beat Arsenal XI juniors in a closely contested match to lift the trophy.

In the stipulated time, the two sides were held 4-4. However, Mohali Football Club boys kept their nerve to score thrice in the tie-breaker in comparison to two goals scored by their opponents.    

Earlier in the semifinals, S3 Club lost to Arsenal XI juniors 1-3, while Mohali FC registered a 2-1 win over CFC-41. 

The tournament was organised by the S3 Club, run by three young footballers Rahul Chadha, Prince and Sandeep Anand. 

Sahil Thapa was named the best player. — TNS
