Patiala girls created history and brought laurels for the city and the state as they helped Punjab win medals in the 60th National Shotgun Championship in progress at Jaipur. The girls outshined their rivals, both in individual and team events.

Sajneet Rehal bagged the silver medal in the junior women’s trap event. “I am extremely happy to have received the silver medal as I had been training hard from the past six months”, she said. Meanwhile, in the trap event, the senior women team comprising Rajeshwari Kumari, Sajneet Rehal and Sukhreet Kaur bagged the bronze medal.

Further, the Punjab skeet junior and senior women stole the show at the championship. Ganemat Sekhon shot a score of 66 and equaled the junior National Record in the qualifying round and won the individual Silver medals in both senior and junior events.
