Amandeep Drall carded a disappointing five-over 76 on the final day of the sixth leg of the Women’s Professional Golf Tour at the Poona Club Golf to finish in tied-second place, nine shots behind winner Vani Kapoor.
Vani carded a three-over 74 in the last round to claim her second title of the season in Pune on Friday. Panchkula’s Amandeep was tied with Gurugram’s Gaurika Bishnoi at a total of 225 after 54 holes. The Rs 6,00,000 event culminated today.
New Delhi’s Vani had an uneasy start, carding a bogey on the 3rd hole and a double on the 7th. Her lone birdie on her way out came on the 6th hole.
Sensing victory, she played with caution in the latter half, and carded a birdie on the 14th after two consecutive bogeys on the 12th and 13th. She finished with a total 216.
Amandeep was not at her best as she carded a birdie-less round with a string of errors on the 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 12th and 18th holes.
Gaurika had a good start, carding a bogey-free front nine, with a birdie on the 3rd hole. She, however, could not sustain the momentum on her return and carded bogeys on the 15th and 17th to finish the round with a score of one-over 72, the best on the day.
Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma finished in tied-8th place along with Sonam Chugh and Mehar Atwal with a card of 239.
The next round will start on April 14 at Bengaluru.
