CHANDIGARH:Hosts St Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32, won the 12th Sr Alberta Memorial Cricket Tournament after registering a 40-run win over Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, today.

Chandigarh, January 17

Hosts St Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32, won the 12th Sr Alberta Memorial Cricket Tournament after registering a 40-run win over Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, today. After electing to bat, St Anne’s boys scored 122/8 in 20 overs.

Openers Gurneet Singh (48) and Aalam (21) started off well to raise a 75-run partnership. Allen (22) and Harman (15) were the other run getters. Sarabjot and Shoaib claimed two wickets each for the bowling side.

In reply, Baptist boys scored 80/8 in 20 overs. Karanbir took three wickets for the bowling side while Ayush claimed two. Lovish (18) and Ankit (14) were the two main scorers for the batting side. Gurneet was named the Best All-Rounder while his teammate Karanbir was adjudged the Best Bowler. Puneet was named the Best Batsman and Aalam was awarded with the Best Wicketkeeper title. —TNS
