The man who opened fire at a youth, injuring him in a parking lot opposite the Government College of Arts, Sector 10, in a road rage incident yesterday, has been identified by the UT police. The suspect is a native of Faridkot district in Punjab, who is on the run.
The victim, Parveen, a student of a local college, was shot at on his back after the suspect had an altercation with him and his friends over car parking.

We have information about his whereabouts and teams have been sent to arrest him,” the DSP said.
Sources said a police team had gone to the native place of the suspect, but he was not found there.
The suspect, who was accompanied by a woman and a child, was reversing his car in the parking lot when he had an altercation with the youths, whose car was parked at the rear.
The police said the man pulled out a pistol from his car and fired a shot, which conked out. Noticing a pistol in his hand, the youths tried to flee from the spot. However, the man again fired a shot, which hit Parveen in the back.
