Swine flu cases are on the rise in the district with total fatalities rising to nine in 2017 so far. As many as 46 swine flu cases have been reported in the district so far, of which nine died. In 2016, eight persons had tested positive for swine flu. Three deaths were reported last year.
Four deaths have occurred in the past 12 days due to swine flu and fresh cases have been reported in Suhana and Dera Bassi.
The number of dengue cases has registered a steep increase from 186 to 408 in the past fortnight. Two dengue-related deaths have occurred in 2017 and as many as 408 cases of dengue have been reported. — TNS

Chandigarh: As many as 10 more cases of dengue were reported on Tuesday, taking the total count to 550. According to Dr Gaurav Aggarwal, anti-malaria officer of the UT Heath Department, besides Mani Majra, dengue cases were reported from Dhanas and Khuda Ali Sher. TNS
