Thieves steal idols, jewellery worth lakhs from Saketri temple

PANCHKULA: Thieves target Shiv Temple in Saketri in Panchkula district and stole the idols of the Lord, gold and silver jewellery and some other articles of worship on Sunday night.

Panchkula, February 19

Thieves target Shiv Temple in Saketri in Panchkula district and stole the idols of the Lord, gold and silver jewellery and some other articles of worship on Sunday night.

According to temple management committee members, as per CCTV footage the thieves were six in number and they targeted the temple on Sunday night.

The worth of these idols and jewellery is in lakhs but the exact loss is yet to be calculated.

The Panchkula police and a forensic team have reached the temple and started investigation. The police team found that the lock of the main temple area was broken.
