Three minor girls missing from Shimla recovered from ISBT-43

CHANDIGARH:Three minor girls, inmates of Balika Ashram at Tutikandi, Shimla, who had gone missing on June 20, was recovered by the Chandigarh Police from the ISBT in Sector 43 here on Thursday.

Three minor girls, inmates of Balika Ashram at Tutikandi, Shimla, who had gone missing on June 20, was recovered by the Chandigarh Police from the ISBT in Sector 43 here on Thursday.

The inmates, students of Classes IX and X, had left for the school from the shelter home, but, they did not reach the school. The matter came to light when the school principal called up the authorities to enquire the reason for the girls’ absence. 

The police were informed after which a case of kidnapping was registered there.

Sources said the Himachal Pradesh (HP) police had shared information with the UT police about minor girls who had gone missing. The UT police on Thursday found the girls standing at a bus counter at the bus stand after which the HP police were informed that took the girls back to Shimla.

Man missing for one month

A 57-year-old man has been missing from Sector 32 here since the past around one month. The police have lodged a daily diary report in the matter at the Sector 34 police station.

Sources said the victim, Ranjit Singh, a resident of the GMCH Complex, Sector 32, has been missing since May 23. The victim’s family has complained to the police that Ranjit had gone for some work, however, he didn’t return. The police have initiated a probe in the matter.
