CHANDIGARH: In view of the three-day Rose Festival, that will be inaugurated tomorrow, the UT traffic police have issued an advisory for visitors.

In view of the three-day Rose Festival, that will be inaugurated tomorrow, the UT traffic police have issued an advisory for visitors. The stretch from the Sector 16/17 light point up to Matka Chowk (Jan Marg) will be closed for vehicular movement on the last two days of the fest.

The police have asked people to park their vehicles at the designated parking lots — the parking area on the rear side of the MC office, Sector 17; in front of the MC office towards Shivalikview Hotel; near the local bus stand, Sector 17; Circus Ground, Sector 17; in front of the Hotel Taj parking, near the post office parking, Sector 17; on the rear and front side of the Neelam Cinema parking; at the multi-level parking, Sector 17; Shanti Kunj parking; Rose Garden parking; adjoining Shivalikview Hotel, Sector 17; on the rear side of the RBI building; near the Sector 16/17 light point (Sector 17 side); on the rear side of the Chandigarh Housing Board office towards the Police Headquarters; adjoining the petrol pump, Sector 10, parking; and at the CLTA parking in front of DAV College.

Police officials said in view of the anticipated heavy rush of pedestrians, the entire road stretch from the Sector 16/17 light point up to Matka Chowk (Jan Marg) would be closed for vehicular movement from 11 am to 7 pm on February 24 and 25.

Commuters have been advised to make use of alternative routes.
