Traffic snarls witnessed at various intersections

Traffic snarls were witnessed in the city following rain on Tuesday morning. Roads connecting Chandigarh with the neighbouring cities witnessed snarls during the peak hours between 9 am and 11 am.

Being office hour, the rush on the roads to Chandigarh was more. The rain slowed down the traffic movement on the Zirakpur-Chandigarh road at Old Airport Light Point, Hallo Majra light point and Tribune Chowk. Snarls were also witnessed on the Panchkula-Chandigarh road at the Housing Board light point and Transport light point.

Similarly, traffic moved at slow pace on the Dakshin Marg and long queues of vehicles were witnessed at various junctions. Waterlogged roads further added to the problem by affecting the movement of vehicles. Traffic cops were present at various intersections to regulate the traffic. The situation on the roads got normal after 11 am. — TNS
